The Thirst For Righteousness

All of us are born with a natural desire for unrighteousness. You might call it a genetic defect that's programmed into our DNA. But when we're saved and sealed by the Holy Spirit, we're given new and additional software which creates within us a hunger and thirst for righteousness. If we're not careful, we may resort to extremes in an attempt to fulfill that desire. One extreme is to put on self-righteousness which results in hypocrisy. The other extreme is to live in a continual state of private guilt and self-condemnation. Fortunately, God provides an escape route that rests in between these two extremes.
